(Pentax 67II + 105mm f/2.4 + Kodak Portra 400 desaturated) Shooting colour film and converting it to black and white is fine by me. Some say that if you are wanting black and white, shoot black and white film. I suppose I'm not a purist in that sense, I like the option of having both. On a side note, shooting portraits is something that can be challenging. Especially when shooting with the Pentax 67 with a lens like the 105/2.4 - you are really close to the person. A hint is do it quickly. People can start to get freaked out if you take too much time. This can be a challenge on a manual focus camera like the Pentax with the narrow depth of field.
