(Images below taken with a Nikon D800 + 45mm f/2.8 Tilt Shift) Matty Jeffs with his piano. In water. Or in this case a borrowed $4000 keyboard that made us both question if we were sane. It’s funny how we were so worried about the thing falling in the water, and yet not worried about the camera that is worth more money. I suppose with the camera I’m used to taking risks, but with the keyboard it’s normal environment isn’t a risky one, so it stands out as very odd.
These shots were all taken with a tilt-shift lens. Most people are familiar with the effect thanks to an Instagram filter or the miniature effect when shooting from above. It’s funny how the inventor surely made this type of lens for the opposite purpose, which is to tilt the angle of focus to increase the amount of focus without needing to use a smaller aperture.
